Anya Volz is a New York City-based standup comedian, writer, podcaster, event producer and host originally from Vermont. Their comedy has been described as “surprisingly funny” by men all across America. They have been a contributing writer for publications such as Riot Fest, The Hard Times and Macaulay Culkin’s Bunny Ears. Their work has been featured in BuzzFeed, Vulture, The New York Times, and Timeout New York . They’ve performed on several national comedy festivals, including New York Comedy Festival and the Women in Comedy Festival, and they’ve performed on and curated non-musical programming for music festivals like Honcho Campout, SOMOS and Camp Caftan.They cohost Best Mistakes, a podcast about f*cking up, with fellow Brooklyn comedian Nika Sylvain. They host a monthly queer comedy variety show called So True, Bestie at the Parkside Lounge, and the satirical queer dance party Diet Zhuzh. In 2015 they won 2nd place in Vemont’s Funniest Comedian and that is to this day their favorite honor and credit.
